SHERMAN FAMILY PICNIC - 8-27-00
Notes: This is the transcript of what Kathy Meyer said during the sharing section of the picnic. I was video taping across the room from where Kathy was sitting and the camera was zoomed in on her so it was difficult to hear everything she said since the microphone is very small and not very powerful, and is attached to the camera, but I think I got the crux of it although not perfectly. Many things she said I could not understand each individual word, but I understood what she was saying so I interpreted it using my own words. Please forgive me if I spelled family names wrong. This was not intentional. I just wanted to get down what she was saying. For the most part I think you will get the idea. MB
Transcript:
Um, my entire family is here,(laughter) but we've been camping for two days and picnicing today and I think they needed a refresher so they are all in the pool, so if you look around you will see my husband. You will see my son and his wife, Mimi. They have a six year old, John, and a four year old, Macala, and he (David) will have another one in February, and Jenny is here with (unintelligable) and they have Jessica, who is nine, and Joshua, who is three, and one year old Jeremy. They have five "J's", so they are already having alot of trouble because our other grandson is John, so there's only Macala whose name doesn't start with a "J". (unintelligable sentence)
Anyway, the way I heard about Mimi being pregnate was David, and (he) asked me if I was sitting down and said to me if my family seemed lopsided, and I didn't think it was, but I guess it was because it was three with one child and two with the other. So now they were going to even it out, and if they had a girl it would be perfect.
But we spent 2 days camping with five kids under a tent (?) (unintelligable) but that's about it. (laughter) We're used to being alone most of the time, so it was interesting with that many children. Anyway, everybody is fine and healthy. My daughter was really wanting to get together with the other family so we were trying to have a picnic yesterday so that when we come to this we would talk to (unintellibable) because we hadn't seen each other in awhile. I think it worked in some ways and I don't know, I'm finding it harder and harder to get together because we don't see each other that much because that pillar in the middle drawing together of mom, We'll have to find our own way... but I guess we aren't pillars, but anyway, it was a nice day and the weather held out. David still works for KIRO, my husband now works for Microsoft. He doesn't know... (unintelligable). I still work for Safeco... (note by MB...there is a little more, but it basically ends here).
