VIETNAM revisited By Mike Bailey

Here are a couple slices of my Vietnam experience. I had dreamed of traveling to places outside the United States even at an early age. My father traveled regularly to places around the world, and I wanted to travel too. At age 19 I had no money to travel so I joined the United States Marines where I was assured a free ticket to a far away and distant country. There was a catch though. I would have to train for war and then go fight in one. I had nothing else planned. I was sick of sitting around in classrooms learning about things. I wasn't that motivated academically at that time. I was ready to go out and experience life. I was healthy and strong so I was up for the challenge. If I didn't get killed in the meantime I would be able to write about my experiences. That is exactly what happened and what I did. I lived to tell about it and that is the reason for these war stories. If you want to read them from the beginning you will have to scroll down to the first entry at the bottom of this page and work your way up. If you want to read the story backward just start reading from the top. Here they are. I hope someone likes them.
